SafeLease, a provider of self-storage tenant-protection plans and other risk-management products, has launched SafeLease Reputation, a suite of tools to help self-storage operators manage and protect their online reputation. It was built specifically for this industry, according to a press release.

Users will be able to collect reviews from current tenants through automated emails and texts. They’ll also boost their online visibility by increasing the total number of positive reviews and gain insight to their online reputation, the release stated.

As part of the initial set-up, SafeLease will need to import the client’s tenant-contact information. The facility operator is then encouraged to launch a review-collection campaign to gather feedback. They can also send customer surveys automatically at prescheduled times and offer a link to the facility’s social-media platforms.

“We believe a facility's online reputation is one of its most valuable assets,” said CEO Steven Stein. “With the launch of SafeLease Reputation, we can leverage our deep experience [in] coordinating communications with tenants and managers to help facilities elicit more positive reviews. The product's results are easy to measure—increase search visibility quickly and directly increase occupancy and retention rates.”

In addition to tenant-protection programs, SafeLease offers reinsurance and revenue-management software. Its products have been implemented at more than 1,500 U.S. self-storage facilities, according to the release. The company is a subsidiary of Etude Capital, which launched a joint venture earlier this year to invest in self-storage in North America.
